Product Operations Associate, Aitium

  • Anywhere

Employment Type: Full-time
Location: Washington, D.C. Metro / Virginia — Hybrid, with availability during U.S. Eastern business hours.

About the Role

Global AI Internet Freedom Fund is seeking a Product Associate to support the development, operation, and commercialization of aitium®, our agentic AI and commerce intelligence platform.

aitium® helps businesses use marketplace, procurement, advertising, financial, and operational data to make faster and more informed decisions. The platform is built on AWS and integrates with Amazon’s Selling Partner API, Amazon Business, Amazon Ads, AWS Marketplace, Plaid, QuickBooks, and other third-party services.

This role sits between product management, engineering, data, cloud operations, and go-to-market execution. The Product Associate will help translate business and customer requirements into clearly defined product features, infrastructure changes, workflows, documentation, testing plans, and implementation tasks.

Our development and deployment environment uses AWS CDK for infrastructure as code and AWS CodeSuite services, particularly AWS CodeBuild. The successful candidate should therefore be comfortable working with AWS infrastructure, build pipelines, command-line tools, technical documentation, and Git-based source control.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to help build and commercialize an emerging AI product rather than manage an established product from a distance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the product roadmap for aitium®, including agentic AI, analytics, workflow automation, marketplace intelligence, and financial-data integrations.
  • Gather and document requirements from customers, internal users, commercial partners, and operational teams.
  • Convert product requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, implementation tasks, infrastructure requirements, and test plans.
  • Coordinate with developers to prioritize, test, release, and document new product capabilities.
  • Support cloud infrastructure and application deployments managed through AWS CDK and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Review, test, and help maintain AWS CodeBuild projects, build specifications, deployment workflows, and related AWS CodeSuite processes.
  • Use AWS consoles, command-line tools, build logs, and monitoring services to identify deployment failures, configuration issues, and application defects.
  • Work with Git repositories, branches, commits, merges, tags, and code-review workflows.
  • Use aitium® and its connected systems directly to identify bugs, workflow gaps, data-quality issues, and opportunities for automation.
  • Test APIs and integrations using command-line tools, API clients, scripts, and cloud-development environments.
  • Support integrations with Amazon’s Selling Partner API, Amazon Business, Amazon Ads, AWS Marketplace, Plaid, QuickBooks, and related services.
  • Help define how AI agents access tools, data, instructions, permissions, and business rules.
  • Review and improve prompts, agent workflows, product instructions, and structured outputs.
  • Assist with the preparation and evaluation of datasets used for analytics, forecasting, recommendations, and AI-assisted decision-making.
  • Create product documentation, infrastructure diagrams, onboarding materials, process maps, demonstrations, and customer-facing guidance.
  • Support product launches, AWS Marketplace activities, customer onboarding, demonstrations, workshops, and feedback collection.
  • Track product usage, feature adoption, customer requests, operational issues, build performance, and commercial outcomes.
  • Maintain organized product backlogs, release notes, project plans, implementation checklists, and deployment records.
  • Research competing products, emerging AI tools, marketplace APIs, and opportunities for new aitium® features.
  • Work across product, engineering, operations, commercial, and partner teams to help move new capabilities from concept through deployment and adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in product management, business, information systems, computer science, data analytics, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in product operations, software implementation, cloud operations, business analysis, technical support, or a related role.
  • Strong written communication and requirements-documentation skills.
  • Ability to understand business processes and translate them into structured technical and product requirements.
  • Experience working with APIs, JSON, YAML, CSV files, databases, or structured business data.
  • Working knowledge of Git, including repositories, branches, commits, merges, tags, and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with command-line tools such as Bash, AWS CLI, Git CLI, curl, or equivalent utilities.
  • Familiarity with cloud build, deployment, or continuous-integration workflows.
  • Ability to read build logs, identify errors, test software systematically, and clearly document defects and expected behavior.
  • AWS certification, or a commitment to obtain an agreed AWS certification within the first six months of employment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple product and implementation priorities.
  • Interest in generative AI, agentic systems, data analytics, marketplaces, and business automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, or another certification relevant to the role.
  • Experience with AWS CDK or another infrastructure-as-code framework.
  • Experience with AWS CodeBuild, including build projects, environment variables, artifacts, build logs, and buildspec.yml files.
  • Familiarity with other AWS CodeSuite services, including CodePipeline, CodeCommit, or CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, CloudWatch, Bedrock, Cognito, IAM, or API Gateway.
  • Experience with Amazon’s Selling Partner API, Amazon Business, Amazon Ads, AWS Marketplace, or another marketplace API.
  • Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, notebooks, or shell scripting.
  • Experience with API-testing tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI tools, or curl.
  • Understanding of large language models, prompt design, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, MCP servers, or AI-agent evaluation.
  • Experience with SaaS products, analytics platforms, financial technology, e-commerce, procurement, or advertising technology.
  • Familiarity with agile product-development practices, software release processes, and technical project management.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first six months, the Product Associate should be able to:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of aitium®, its users, integrations, AWS infrastructure, and commercial proposition.
  • Independently document product requirements and convert them into actionable development and infrastructure tasks.
  • Navigate Git repositories and participate effectively in branch, merge, tagging, and code-review workflows.
  • Review AWS CDK projects and understand how aitium® infrastructure is defined, deployed, and updated.
  • Run, review, and troubleshoot AWS CodeBuild projects using build configurations, logs, and artifacts.
  • Test API integrations and product workflows using graphical and command-line tools.
  • Improve the quality and consistency of aitium® product documentation, infrastructure documentation, and release processes.
  • Help move new capabilities from initial concept through development, infrastructure deployment, testing, customer adoption, and measurement.
  • Identify practical opportunities to improve aitium® through automation, analytics, AWS services, and agentic AI.
  • Hold an agreed AWS certification if the candidate was not already certified when hired.

Working Environment

This is a collaborative, execution-oriented role within a growing technology and investment organization. The Product Associate will work across aitium®, terratree®, AWS, Amazon marketplace programs, and third-party technology partnerships.

The role requires initiative, intellectual curiosity, comfort with evolving requirements, and a willingness to work directly with product, infrastructure, data, and development systems.
